Terminal application missing because it has been replaced with HyperTerminal.
Cause:
Terminal has been replaced by HyperTerminal, which connects the computer to another computer or to an online service.
Solution:
Select 'Programs', select 'Accessories', and select 'HyperTerminal'. Double-click the 'Hypertrm.exe' icon.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs', select 'Accessories', and select 'HyperTerminal'. (The 'HyperTerminal' window appears.)
NOTE: If HyperTerminal is not available from the 'Start' menu, use the Control Panel to add this application (as described at the end of this section).
3) Double-click the 'Hypertrm.exe' icon. (The 'Connection Description' dialog box appears.)
4) Type the name of the new connection in the 'Name' box.
5) Select an icon from the 'Icon' scroll list.
6) Click 'OK'. (The 'Phone Number' dialog box appears.)
7) Select the country from the 'Country code' drop-down list box.
8) Type an area code in the 'Area code' drop-down list box.
9) Type the phone number in the 'Phone number' drop-down list box.
10) Select a modem from the 'Connect using' drop-down list box.
11) Click 'OK'. (The 'Connect' dialog box appears.)
12) Click 'Dialing Properties...'. (The 'Dialing Properties' dialog box appears.)
13) Select the correct dialing properties from the 'Where I am' and 'How I dial from this location' groups.
14) Click 'OK'.
15) Click 'Dial'.
16) After the connection has been terminated, select the 'File' menu, select 'Save As...'. (The 'Save As' dialog box appears.)
17) Type a filename for the new connection in the 'File name' box, and click 'Save'.
